The Troy-Bilt TB144 garden tiller will not only till your backyard but also easily converts to create a crisp edged border with no tools needed. Add to that the fact that this is a very lightweight garden tiller making it extremely easy for anyone to use and maneuver.

The Troy Bilt TB144 benefits from a 4-cycle 1.1 HP gas powered engine that produces enough power to more than cope with any rocky and stubborn terrain. Being a 4-cycle engine also means it is not only a lot quieter than a 2-cycle, but there are no smelly exhaust fumes either. Plus, there is obviously no need to mix any gas and oil together.

Being able to adjust the tilling width from 6 to 10 1/4 inches is a real advantage. Being a 4-cycle engine makes this tiller both quieter and less messy to use as there is no need to mix oil and gas together as with a 2-cycle engine. Troy Bilt TB144 Tiller Reviews

Through our extensive research we have discovered a bit of a mixed bag as far as the reviews go for the TB144 tiller. Although there are quite a lot of reviewers who have given it a 5 star review, there are nearly as many who only gave it 1 star.

As we stated earlier in this review, on paper this tiller should be a real winner. And there is no doubt about it, a good percentage of those who purchased it were delighted with it and commented on how lightweight and easy to maneuver it was, even being able to pick it up with one hand.

They also liked how the 4-cycle engine was much cleaner and much less smelly than a 2-cycle engine as it didn´t need to have the oil and gas mixed together. They were also happy with the power it had, and how easy to was to start each time.

As we said earlier though, unfortunately there seems to be nearly as many negative reviews for the TB144 tiller and most seem to be related to its reliability. Reviewers commented how the pull-start would break and need repairing while other parts would simply become faulty after a couple of seasons use.

After researching all the reviews for the TB144 tiller it would appear to be a bit hit and miss. Some of those who made a purchase raved about it, while nearly as many complained about it.

From what we can judge the TB144 tiller has a lot of good features at a very affordable price for a 4-cycle tiller. There may well be other and better 4-cycle tillers out there but few with the price tag of the Troy Bilt tiller.

And for that reason alone we would, with caution, recommend the Troy Bilt TB144 tiller to you, after you have reviewed the other range of tillers on this site.
